Connection to Competitive EmploymentWe partner with the Opportunity for Ohioans with Disabilities agency (OOD) and local providers to help people with disabilities find employment in our community. People with disabilities make great employees, and the Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities supports people who have maintained employment for over two decades.

Partnering with Our Community
People with disabilities have never been more connected to their community than they are today. Whether it’s volunteering for a local nonprofit organization, being a part of a book club, or joining friends for coffee at The Depot or Spotted Cow Coffeehouse, we help people with disabilities connect with Champaign County.
The people we support also have their own organization, Kiwanis Aktion Club, which helps all children in our community with resources like books, playgrounds, and relationships with first responders. To learn more about Kiwanis Aktion Club and how to join, contact us. |
Advocacy and Education
Helping people with disabilities have lives important to them starts with making sure their voices are heard. The Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities helps link people to state and local advocacy groups. We also provide opportunities for people with disabilities to learn the importance of balancing rights with responsibilities.
